Membrane dosing pump

The component of the membrane dosing system that comes into contact with the dosed liquid

Description of the diaphragm metering pumps

The diaphragm metering pump is the central component of PROMERA diaphragm metering systems and is in direct contact with the medium being metered. It ensures precise and reliable delivery of the liquid.

Compact system with diaphragm dosing pump and connections

PROMERA diaphragm dosing pumps are designed for demanding applications and offer the following features:

  • Consistent dosing quality: Regardless of fluid properties such as viscosity, temperature fluctuations, solids content, or abrasiveness.
  • High process reliability: Consistent dosing and mixing quality as the foundation for stable chemical reactions.
  • Cost-effectiveness: Significant savings on material, spare parts, and maintenance costs.
  • Wear-free operation: Minimizes downtime and extends service life.
  • Pulsation-free operation: Ensures consistent flow and precise dosing.

HOW IT WORKS

The dosing unit consists of two chambers (left and right) that work together as a coordinated unit. Each chamber is divided into two sections by a double diaphragm:

  • Materials page:
    • Contact with the liquid.
    • Equipped with an inlet and outlet valve.
    • Valves are actively controlled by the control system.
  • Oil page:
    • Mechanically connected to the metering shaft.
    • Responsible for power transmission.

COMPONENTS AND CUSTOMIZATION

  • Double diaphragm:
    • Identical across all systems.
    • Ensures consistent process conditions and high operational reliability.
  • Other components (e.g., base body):
    • Designed for specific applications.
    • Optimally adapted to the medium and process requirements.

      VALVE SYSTEM

The valve system is based on a modular design:

      • Available in two sizes
      • customizable via:
        • Sealing systems
        • switch body
        • Valve seats
      • Valve control:
        • Hydraulic or
        • Pneumatic (depending on system pressure).

          MATERIALS OF THE BODY

          POM
          Coated aluminum
          Stainless steel

The choice of material depends on the operating conditions:

          • POM: suitable for low-pressure dispensing.
          • Coated aluminum: Ideal for high-pressure dispensing, but not suitable for high temperatures.
          • Stainless steel: The "all-rounder" of metering systems: high pressure, high viscosity, high temperatures.

          Factors influencing this are:

          • Processing medium
          • System pressure
          • Operating temperature

          Low-pressure, medium-pressure and high-pressure diaphragm dispensers

          Technical highlights:

          • Dilution ratios ranging from1:100 to 100:1 in increments of 0.01
          • Viscosity range up to 30 million mPas
          • Material temperature up to 130 °C
          • Flow rate from 20 to 1600 cm³/min

          3 categories:

          • Low-pressure diaphragm metering pumps: suitable for applications involving sensitive materials such as UV-curable coatings or deionized water (pressure range: 0 to 10 bar).
          • Medium-pressure diaphragm dispensers: Ideal for a wide range of industrial applications, from solvent-based to solvent-free adhesives (pressure range: 0 to 100 bar).
          • High-pressure diaphragm dosing pumps: Ideal for high-viscosity fluids and abrasive materials, such as quartz sand-filled polyurethanes (pressure range: 0 to 200 bar).
