Robotic 2K High-Pressure Mixing Head

PROMERA MiKoHD-PC10-PC15

Precision Dispensing for Automated High-Pressure Processes

What is the function of the PROMERA 2K high-pressure mixing head?

The MiKoHD-PC10-PC15 is a specialized 2-component high-pressure mixing head designed for mounting on industrial robots. Originally developed for the demanding coating of passenger car tires, this technology has proven itself worldwide in complex diaphragm metering systems (17 active production lines, as of 2026).

This mixing head is the solution for processes involving extreme viscosity differences, high pressures, and the need for thermal monitoring.

THE HIGHLIGHTS AT A GLANCE

  • LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN:
Weighing just 8 kg, the mixing head minimizes stress on the robot and enables maximum dynamics.
  • HIGH-PRESSURE PERFORMANCE:
Designed for an operating pressure of up to 200 bar.
  • PROCESS RELIABILITY:
Active shutoff of components directly upstream of the mixing chamber and an integrated drop-out valve to prevent dripping and ensure clean injection molding.
  • SURFACE COMPENSATION:
Pneumatically adjustable nozzle contact pressure flexibly compensates for irregularities in the component surface using pneumatic suspension.

Technical Details & Innovations

Thermal & Sensory Inspection

To ensure precise dosing and material properties, the MiKoHD is equipped with a comprehensive monitoring system:

  • TEMPERATURE CONTROL:
The mixing tube is temperature-controlled to ensure consistent flow properties.
  • SENSORS:
A temperature sensor measures the mixed material directly in front of the nozzle; pressure sensors are also integrated into both components.
  • PROCESS SAFETY:
Active shutoff of components directly upstream of the mixing chamber and an integrated drop-out valve to prevent dripping and ensure clean spraying.
  • SURFACE COMPENSATION:
A pneumatically adjustable nozzle contact pressure flexibly compensates for irregularities in the component surface using pneumatic suspension.

Ease of maintenance without system downtime

A key advantage in series production is the well-thought-out design: the mixing tube and mixing chamber can be easily removed without having to detach the entire mixing head from the robot. This eliminates the need for time-consuming re-calibration of the tool (TCP).
